May 28, 2021

Good morning Fort McMurray Catholic Schools grade 7-12 families,

As you may be aware Alberta Education, in partnership with Alberta Health Services, has been utilizing rapid testing in schools to screen for COVID-19 in some priority areas. Fort McMurray has now been identified as an area targeted for rapid testing in schools.

Alberta Education and AHS choose areas for school rapid testing based on a variety of factors including how prevalent cases are in a community or school.

***Please note any participation in rapid testing is purely voluntary and must have written consent.***

Next week Alberta Education will begin rapid testing in Fort McMurray. We all have a part to play in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

  • Tuesday, June 1      Holy Trinity Catholic High School
  • Thursday, June 3    Father Mercredi High School

To consent to having your child receive a rapid test at school next week this form must be returned to school by the date of testing at your school. If the written consent is not provided, a test will not be completed.  (if required, printed copies of the consent form will be available at both Father Mercredi and Holy Trinity High Schools on Monday)

  • Please do not consent if your child has already recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days.

Thank you,

Fort McMurray Catholic Schools
